Battlefieldtour Operation Market Garden
Want to delve into the military history of World War II in this region? Then this professional Battlefieldtour is a must. In a bus with an expert guide, you will travel back in time and experience key moments from Operation Market Garden in the 82nd Airborne Division area. Now 80 years ago.
During this Battlefieldtour you will visit the drop zones in the area and at various locations you will leave the bus and the guide will tell you in detail in the field what happened at that location, which choices had to be made and which details led to success. All supported with maps and detailed photos from that time.
We will give you a complete and varied picture of a particularly complex military operation in the period 17 to 20 September 1944.
Programme
- Introduction at the Freedom Museum
- Start route outside the museum (Dropzone 'Tare')
- Route along the Nijmegen-Kleve railway line, General Browning monument, Dropzone 'Nan'
- Lunch or sanitary stop at restaurant Malden*
- Continued route to Heumen lock bridge, bridge at Grave, de Oversteek (Waal Crossing), Waal bridge and return to the Freedom Museum.

* It is possible to have lunch halfway through the tour at restaurant Malden. They are very efficient and fast and can serve groups very well with a wide and varied offer. The menu can be downloaden from the restaurant website. Reservations for a group of 8 people or more are appreciated. Groups order and pay on the spot.
It is of course also possible to bring your own packed lunch on the bus.

- 2. Museum admission € 8.00 pp: group rate for military, school pupils, veterans;
- 3. Battlefield guide € 195 per 4.5 hours (excluding bus).
2. Without a visit to the Freedom Museum

- 1. Battlefield tour guide € 195,- per 4,5 hours (excl. bus).

Bus transport
Prices do not include bus transport, so you can provide your own bus for up to 15 people. However, the Freedom Museum can also arrange bus transport for you. The overview below shows the corresponding prices.
