Mini exhibition ICC

From Wednesday 1 October 2025, the Freedom Museum will host a compact exhibition on the International Criminal Court. With this exhibition, which covers the history of the court from its inception to the present day, the museum aims to draw attention to the importance of the institutions that safeguard international humanitarian law.

The ICC was established by the United Nations in 2002 and was given the mandate to prosecute individuals suspected of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes against peace. The exhibition includes short biographies of all individuals currently being prosecuted by the court or for whom an arrest warrant has been issued.

In recent years, the ICC has increasingly been confronted with hacking, threats and intimidation. In February 2025, President Trump imposed sanctions on the ICC in response to the arrest warrants issued for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant. These sanctions severely restrict the functioning of the court.

The exhibition will be on display at the Freedom Museum from 1 October 2025 to 1 June 2026.
